Our Story
Gwynfe Growers CIC can be found in a Bannau Brycheiniog valley, nestled between a stream and a verdant hillside looking up at the Carmarthen Fans (Bannau Sir Gaer). This magical place is our home, our farm, and the focal point of our lifelong passion for local food sovereignty.
Luke & Rebecca moved to the site in December 2021 driven by a belief that our industrial food production systems are fragile, and that we could find a better way of producing food while working with nature. We began growing on ¼ acre in 2022, selling veg from the farm gate and at local farmers markets.

Our Community
Thanks to massive support from our community, every year has seen new projects added and an expansion of our growing capacity. We’ve expanded to ⅔ acre of no dig market garden, while adding fruit and nut producing agroforestry, composting and biochar production systems. We’ve launched an annual community music festival - End of the Field - and helped to coordinate community growing projects like the village potato field.

The CIC
The CIC (Community Interest Company) was set up in 2026 with a commitment to:
-
Growing a local supply of fresh, healthy, seasonal, naturally grown produce via Community Supported Agriculture
-
Hosting events, training and volunteering, to share skills, knowledge and experience around local and regenerative food production systems
-
Spearheading community food growing projects
-
Undertaking regenerative farming practices to enhance biodiversity and support the restoration of ecological systems
These commitments keep us deeply rooted in our community as we continue our mission to rebuild local food sovereignty and security in this beautiful part of the world.
Our Farming Values
We are a small, intensive farm, striving to be as sustainable as possible. We follow a regenerative, no-dig, beyond-organic approach in the market garden - minimise soil disturbance, keeping the soil covered, and ensuring that roots are in the ground as much as possible - to create the best conditions for the soil microbiology to flourish.
We strive towards a closed loop system, producing as much of our fertility on site as possible. We have planted tree coppices to produce biochar. We make liquid fertiliser “teas” out of plants grown on site such as comfrey, mullein, dock, nettle etc. We cycle all residual green waste back into compost through a “Chicken Tractor” composting system.
While we're not certified organic (due to the expense & admin), we never use any kind of chemicals. We focus on the health of the soil, the pollinators & insects, and the broader ecosystem we inhabit. We encourage diversity.
We're proud of how we grow, and will happily answer any questions!
