Veg Boxes

Community Supported Agriculture

Welcome to our farm

Untitled design.png

We’re Gwynfe Growers, and our dream is for a community that doesn’t rely on supermarkets for food - so we're here to start making it happen.

This year, we’re launching a share-of-harvest veg box membership. Every week, members will be able to collect a box packed full of delicious, organic local veg - a mix of staples and seasonal favourites. Enough to say goodbye to the supermarket veg shop!

We’ve got space for up to 30 households - so if you’re up for ditching supermarket veg in 2026 then read on...

Delicious, fresh, chemical-free veg: every week!

What's in the box?

  • We’re aiming for 6-10 different items each week

  • There will be more variety in the summer and autumn than in the winter - the joy of eating seasonally!

  • Staples such as potatoes, onions and carrots will be included most - if not all - weeks

Where will it all come from?

We’re going to try and grow as much of the produce as possible here in Gwynfe, but may need to occasionally supplement the boxes - particularly as we’re ramping up our growing for the 2026 season!

If there is ever a week where we can’t manage to grow quite enough for your box, we will look first to other local organic farms in our network, then further afield to Welsh organic farms, then (if we're really stuck!) other organic British sources. We will never import food internationally.

What are the options available?

  • There are 3 different size options available depending on the needs of your household

  • Pickup will be here in Gwynfe, with additional pick-up locations added depending on local demand in our neighbouring communities of Llangadog, Llandeilo, Trap, and Llandeusant

What else comes with the CSA?

3.png

Well - we're glad you asked! Because nobody you know is as passionate about delicious, healthy, local food as we are!

  • At the Gwynfe veg box pickup, you will have access to some lovely extras: a swap-out table (in case there's anything in the box you'd rather trade for something else), free wonky veg, and access to the community swap & share table - where local people can bring extra produce for sharing!

  • Recipes based on what you’re getting in your box each week, especially if it's something unusual.

  • Additional events: farm-to-fork meals, volunteer days (with food provided!), and educational experiences for all ages.

  • We are a registered CIC: so all profits are reinvested back into providing food for this amazing community.

What we need from you

Untitled design.png

A good indication of who is interested and some logistical details helps us to plan crops, invest in seeds and equipment, and grow confidently for the season ahead!

At this stage, we’re asking you to do two things:

  1. Indicate what size veg box + price you’re likely to want

  2. Let us know what collection days + locations would work for you

We need this information to help us plan - but we’re not taking it as a formal commitment at this stage. At the bottom of this page you’ll find a link to a form where you can tell us your preferences.

Pricing

4.png

Our pricing uses what's called a "solidarity model." That means each box has a price range rather than a single fixed price.

  • The midpoint price is the minimum we need most members to pay for the veg box to be viable

  • The lower price exists so households on tighter budgets can still access local organic food

  • The higher price more accurately reflects the true cost of producing veg, allows us to invest in the community, and helps make the CSA more affordable to others.

If everyone selected the lowest price, we simply wouldn’t be able to run - so if you're able to choose the midpoint or higher, that helps make the whole project possible.

For illustration purposes, we've included an example of what a box might look like in February. (One of the leaner months of the year.)

How it works/practicalities

5.png
Payment:

Payment is 4 weeks in advance. However, if you are in a position to pay for 3 or even 6 months in advance, that would really help us manage cashflow at the start of the year!

Price Range:

As you can see, there is a price range given for each box. We don't want the price to become a barrier for people, so we're asking that you pay what you can afford. We trust that the people who can pay more will make up for those who need to pay less.

Collection:

The primary collection point will be in Gwynfe, which is where we'll also have the "swap out" options and community crop sharing, wonky veg, and other extras. We are also considering additional pickup points in Llangadog, Llandeilo, Trap, and Llandeusant, depending on demand. Please note that at those points, it would be a standard box pickup - as opposed to the Gwynfe pickup which comes with all the extras listed above.

Length of Season:

We are looking to start the CSA in April 2026 - and continue weekly, all throughout the year.

There will be a couple of weeks' break over Christmas, but in advance you'll get loads of extra goodies to tide you over for your Christmas dinners!
